Kia Leads J.D. Power 2024 APEAL Study with Most Model-Level Awards
The 2025 KIA EV6, KIA's all-new 3-row electric SUV, showcases innovative design and advanced technology.   With five of its models receiving top honors, the Kia brand received the highest number of model-level awards for any single brand in this year’s study, a significant achievement in the hyper-competitive mass market segment. Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America, expressed his pride in the brand’s achievements, stating,
“We are thrilled to stand out in this year’s J.D. Power APEAL Study with the most segment-leading winners, particularly with the K5, EV6, Forte, and Carnival earning consecutive awards. Moreover, the recognition of the EV9 in its debut year highlights our commitment to understanding and responding to our customers’ needs across various vehicle segments – be it a compact car, SUV, or all-electric vehicle.”

Five KIA Models Lead Their Segments

Kia’s impressive performance in the 2024 APEAL Study is led by their diverse lineup that caters to, quite literally, every lifestyle.
  • The Kia K5 continues to impress in the mid-sized sedan category, securing the top spot for the fourth consecutive year. It looks great, drives superbly, and delivers impressive fuel economy. What's not to like?
  • The Kia EV6, an icon in the compact electric SUV segment, has earned the model-level award for the third year in a row. This all-electric vehicle offers tons of versatility, going from an efficient battery-sipping commuter to a faster-than-a-ferrari track monster, depending on the trim.
  • The Kia Carnival MPV minivan has again proven its superiority in the minivan category, clinching the top position for the third consecutive year. Known for its spacious interior and family-friendly features, the Carnival continues to be a favorite among consumers who love the minivan format.
  • The all-new Kia EV9 made a remarkable debut by winning the segment award in the upper midsize SUV category. As Kia’s latest electric offering, the full-sized EV9 SUV has quickly become a popular pick for its boxy design, ample 3-row interior, and innovative EV Tech.
  • The now discontinued Kia Forte secured the top spot in the compact car segment for the second consecutive year. The Forte’s combination of efficiency, reliability, and modern features has made it a consistent choice for drivers seeking an affordable but reliable commuter. If you're interested in the Forte, keep an eye out for the KIA K4, its highly-anticipated successor.
