Despite the convenience of overnight charging however, it offers only incremental boosts to the battery, making it impractical for rapidly charging in time-sensitive situations. An additional method,  Level 2 charging, utilizes a 240-volt outlet, and is nearly nine times faster than Level 1 charging. For home installation, a licensed electrician may be needed to hardwire the outlet. Renters and those in multi-unit dwellings may face challenges in establishing home charging, but some apartment complexes are incorporating charging stations.
