Kia has officially unveiled the EV3, a compact electric SUV that promises to bring a fresh blend of style, efficiency, and affordability to the market. Drawing from the design cues of its larger sibling, the EV9, the EV3 features a distinct boxy shape, making it both practical and visually appealing. Measuring 169 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 61 inches tall, the EV3 is significantly smaller, fitting the “small SUV” category while still offering ample space for urban and suburban use. The vehicle includes rear-hinged backdoors, which add a touch of uniqueness and practical ease for loading items or placing child seats.
Expected pricing ranges from $30,000 to $45,000, with hopes that the base model will hit the lower end of this spectrum. This affordability, combined with the vehicle's efficient use of space and significant range, positions the EV3 as a strong contender for those looking to transition to electric driving without breaking the bank.
A Modern Interior
Kia will offer the EV3 in nine colors, including new shades like Aventurine Green and Terracotta. The vehicle’s exterior is complemented by vertical headlights and a squared-off hood, giving it a distinct, friendly look. The GT-Line variant adds sporty elements with different wheels and a unique bumper design, maintaining the 19-inch wheels standard across all models.
Inside, the EV3 boasts a dual display panel that extends across the dashboard, combining a large infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster. The interior design emphasizes sustainability, featuring recycled materials for the dashboard, door trims, seats, headliner, armrests, and floor mats. This eco-friendly approach doesn’t compromise on style or comfort, ensuring a modern, luxurious feel.

Impressive Range and Performance
One of the standout features of the Kia EV3 is its impressive range. The long-range version comes with an 81.4-kWh battery, offering an estimated 350 miles per charge under EPA standards. This variant can charge from 10% to 80% in about 31 minutes, making it convenient for long trips. For those opting for the standard version, a 58.3-kWh battery is available, though it offers a shorter range, likely closer to 200 miles.
